Level 2 Visual Art - Painting - Semester A

Course Description

Note: You must take Semester A Painting to be allowed entry into the Semester B course.


The course builds on the skills and knowledge gained in Y11.

The assignment in semester A, involves building skills within drawing and painting and has a large focus on using a range of artmaking conventions. You will research into a range of still life painters and use influence from their practise to incorporate into your own work. The assignment will cover both of the standards listed below.

You will develop and learn new skills to take forward into semester B where you will complete the Level 2 Portfolio Board.

The course leads into Year 13 where students will further develop their painting and drawing skills and knowledge. 

The work taught will equip students with the skills to gain internal standards and move into semester B.
