You can either use this semester to prepare for the external exams in aural and/ or score reading. Or you can just study two set pieces of music through analysis of the music, the composers intent and the background to the genre. Or you can do a combination of both.
Skills covered in the externals: aural listening and writing skills, reading a score, transposition, music theory, harmonic analysis. Skills covered by studying of two set works cover analysis, score reading, compositional devices, contextual understanding and genre knowledge.
Students will complete between 6 and 12 credits from the standards provided.
