Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

Trades Student from 2023 but not a prerequisite

NCEA Level Two.

Excellent attendance. 

Interview.

Being organised, punctual, motivated to do well.

It is important that the student has 90% or over attendance at Trades for completion of the course in 2022. Therefore attendance from 2021 is looked into.

Some Trades course require you to be out of school two days per week. 


 

You will need to be accepted into the Trades  by the Western Bay of plenty Trades Academy selection group 

NB:  if accepted into Trades in 2023, you do not have to take this option.

What is available : See Ms bundle for the Prospectus. Applications close at the end of Term 3. There are some good courses available. 

Transport is provided for all students, even those going to a course in Rotorua.

Assessment Information

Unit Standards. These are awarded towards the end of Term 3 2022.
The Trades academy prospectus shows the credits, their value and where the course is based. Most students stay in Tauranga, but we have had students make a real early start in the morning to attend Rotorua.



			
					
					Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
										

Bus transport is provided and students do not self drive unless it is to the College to pick up transport. There are pick up points South of Katikati.
Bus departs Katikati College 7.20am sharp and departs the campus 2.30pm if attending Toi Ohomai & EmployNZ.
Other arrangements with the transport provider are organised if going to any Rotorua campus. This leaves before 7am.
