Level 1 Innovative Horticulture - Putting Down Roots - Semester A

Course Description

In this course you will learn practical horticulture skills and basic plant propagation techniques. You will choose another subject from: landscaping, plant management, environmental sustainability, and digital design proposal development, depending on your interests. There is only one externally assessed standard in this semester and it is optional.This is an Achievement Standard course which can ultimately take you to tertiary study and a career in primary industries.

Students will choose, in consultation with the Innovative Horticulture Manager, how many standards their individual pathway is made up of based on ability and needs. Typically you will select 12 credits in total.

Field trips, if any, depend on subjects chosen. Allow up to $30.

Recommended Prior Learning

None necessary. The modular nature of these courses requires you to be able to work independently.
