Aim To plan, manage and perform in a live performance opportunity.
Students will developing performance skills as both a soloist and as a member of a group on their chosen instrument/s as well as learning skills in event planning, programme writing, emcee skills, stage management, set design and setting up and using sound technology.
It is expected that students will develop skills in all areas but will complete between 8 and 12 credits for assessment. Not all skills taught will be assessed.
Students taking this subject are unable to take Level 2 Performance Music - Showtime in Semester B. This is a one semester only course. Students can go on and take Music Knowledge in Semester B.

Students will have the opportunity to attend one concert during this course. This will offer students a chance to experience music from genres outside their normal listening parameters and through this extend their knowledge in performance. It is optional, transport and ticket costs to be advised.
Six credits in NCEA level 1 Music or by audition with the Music Teacher.
