Course Description

Students design and construct an outfit suitable for entry into the Pin'd Creative Showcase in August. Course includes pattern alterations and testing.

All students are expected to provide their own materials for their sewing projects.

Course Overview

Term 1
Learn how to make advanced pattern alterations to a pattern.
Develop a pattern to fit you and meet your design.
Make your pattern into a finished garment.

Develop your knowledge and skills in advanced sewing techniques.
Use your skills to construct an outfit to enter in the Pin'd Creative Showcase in August.

Term 2
Complete your competition outfit.

Term 3
Model your outfit in the Pin'd Creative Showcase in August.


Level 2 Fabric - Advanced Garment Construction - Semester B, Level 3 Fabric - Pattern Drafting & Making - Semester A

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

$15 entry fee to the Pin'd Creative Showcase competition
Students to organise and/or buy own fabric and components for own sewing projects
A4 clear file and/or BYOD to store assessment evidence

Recommended Prior Learning

Basic sewing skills and knowledge, an interest in making clothes and a willingness to enter a competition.
