Level 2/3 Gateway (Work Placement) - Semester B

2GATEB
Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms G. Bundle

The Gateway Programme is designed to strengthen the pathway for students from school to workplace learning. Students gain practical work knowledge with businesses which will make learning relevant and ensure that students have a smooth transition from school to employment, further education or training.
Students are assessed in the workplace, at school or a combination of both.
Gateway differs from work experience positions as the student has specific tasks to learn and be assessed on.
Gateway is usually taken as an option over and above their other options as the work placement is for one day per week over 10 weeks.

Year 13's may do two days per week, but this is in discussion with Ms Bundle.

Students interested in a work placement are to see Ms Bundle to register. If students select this option it is NOT A STUDY period.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Costs are kept low, but the student will need to pay transport costs to work placements and any fees when being taken on trips to Career Expo or event days.
