Course Description

Note: You must take Semester A Design to be allowed entry into the Semester B course.

FULL YEAR COURSE IS RECOMMENDED.

In this course students will develop skills in their chosen field of Design or Photography. 

PHOTOGRAPHY Yr12:  

The course builds on the skills and knowledge gained in Y11.

This course involves learning to use a DSLR camera and to take photos appropriate for Art Photography. The assignment in semester A, involves building skills within photography and editing techniques with a focus on exploring techniques from established practice and artist models. You will research into a range of artist models and use influence from their practise to incorporate into your own work. The assignment will cover both of the standards listed below.

You will develop and learn new skills to take forward into semester B where you will complete the Level 2 Portfolio Board.

The course leads into Year 13 where students will further develop their photography skills and knowledge. 

The work taught will equip students with the skills to gain internal standards and move into semester B.

DESIGN Yr12: The course builds on the skills and knowledge gained in Y11.

The first assessment looks into the importance of type and fonts. You will develop artwork through the use of type and also explore techniques from established practise. 

The second assessment looks into Russian Design. You will produce research around this genre of design plus related genres, and develop outcomes for a chosen event with the influence of Russian art culture. 

You will develop and learn new skills to take forward into semester B where you will complete the Level 2 Portfolio Board.

The course leads into Year 13 where students will further develop their design skills and knowledge. 

The work taught will equip students with the skills to gain internal standards and move into semester B.
