Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

Any Visual Arts experience, either at school or otherwise, and a passion or interest in contemporary Visual Design. Any experience in applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or other applications will be very useful in helping you in this course. 


This course builds on the skills and knowledge gained in your Year 11 Visual Arts class. You will explore a range of artistic conventions, ideas and techniques in Design, both historical and contemporary, and then apply that to your own portfolio project. Your internal assignments will contribute towards the external assessment, and the project will a year long investigation into your subject matter. Your project will allow you to investigate topics that matter to you, and will allow you to express your original ideas, wrapped around the pictorial issues of your chosen artist models. 

Design project ideas can be corporate identity, event promotion, social awareness campaigns, product design, 3-D modelling, animation, moving image, and more, with approval from your teacher that it is in your skill set to achieve.

If you have not taken Level One Visual Arts, but have relevant prior experience, either at at school or otherwise, or a passion to pursue a career in the creative industries, please see Miss Bell to get permission to enroll in the course.
