Level 2 Primary Industries Academy - Semester A

Course Description

Taratahi is one of the leading rural Education providers. This programme gives students the opportunity to begin their tertiary education in agriculture while still at school. Students will be out one day per week on a farm with a tutor. From Term 2, students might be out two days on a farm, (one farming, one work experience).
Students must be self-motivated to catch up on work missed while off campus.
Students 16+ have the opportunity to go to the Taratahi Masterton Campus for a live in experience over four days. (school holidays)

This is a "FULL YEAR" course. Students must take "Semester A and B"

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Wet weather gear, steel cap boots.


Recommended Prior Learning

Agricultural interest, working with animals, practical, being able to work outdoors.
Students MUST be motivated to complete the requirements and be of a mature nature to take on responsibilities of working on a farm.
Selection panel interview and taster day.
