Level 2 Sports Science - Skill Learning & Risk Management - Semester A

Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr A. Walter
Sports Science provides challenging learning experiences in sport and physical activity with a strong emphasis on learning through practical application. This course includes a two day stand up paddle boarding and mountain biking camp along with a skill learning programme focused on a sport of the student's choice.
This course provides students with the opportunity for subject endorsement if combined with the Level 2 Sports Science Semester B course.
NB: This course can not be taken in the same semester as Level 2 Sport & Recreation.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Cost: approx $150
Days out of School: overnight stand up paddle boarding & mountain biking camp at Whangamata.
Recommended Prior Learning
A keen interest in sport, fitness, outdoor education and the theory of sport and fitness. 8 credits or more gained in Year 11 Sports Science A or Year 11 Sports Science B or with Head of Faculty approval.
