This course allows students to develop their critical thinking skills when analysing health issues. We investigate sexuality issues by reflecting on attitudes and values in society and consequences.
We investigate an adolescent health issue by analysing data of its effects at a personal, and societal level. Last year's focus was on adolescent misuse of alcohol - binge drinking and its impact.
Developing understanding of gender identity and sexual identity.
Investigating the influences on gender identity and sexual identity - cultural, media (advertising, music and TV), interrelationships with others.
Social justice and strategies for addressing inequities in gender and sexuality situations.

What is an issue?
Analysing adolescent binge drinking as a health issue through the
- the personal, interpersonal and societal influences on adolescent binge drinking
- the consequences for the well-being of adolescents, their relationships with otehrs, and of society as a result of binge drinking.
- strategies for health-enhancing change related to binge drinking.
