Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms R. Cameron
Students will develop their knowledge and abilities to use commercial sewing patterns to make a garment for themselves.
All students are expected to provide their own materials for their sewing projects.
Course Overview
Term 2
Develop your understanding of quality specifications and how to meet them by examining a range of garments.
Plan how to make a quality garment and organise your resources.
Term 3
Write specifications for your garment and make technique samples.
Make your garment and evaluate it against your specifications.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Students to organise and/or buy own pattern and fabric for their own sewing projects.
A4 clearfile to store assessment evidence. A BYOD device for taking photos.
Recommended Prior Learning
Achievement at the expected curriculum level at Year 10 and/or a keen interest in sewing with basic sewing skills. Or with TiC approval.
