Level 1 Engineering Technology - Semester A

Project based delivery:
•Workshop processes, techniques & tools.
•Workshop & workshop health & safety.
•Basic arithmetic & applied geometry.
•Fastening, assembly & welding processes.
Make a clamp and a sheet metal tray. This course covers the same Unit Standards as Semester B, so only select one or other. The objective is to provide an engineering pathway for those not interested in the expensive drift cart. There will be no choice of project, the course is very prescriptive.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Cost: $40.00 this includes the materials and consumables for two projects.
Recommended Prior Learning
Achievement at the expected curriculum level in Year 10 Metal Technology, or with HOF approval. A good track record for safety in the workshop.
Total Credits Available: 14 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 14 credits.
Course selection will depend on the option lines and student numbers. There is no guarantee that the courses you select now will all be available for you in 2021.
