Level 1 Drama - Theatre through the Ages - Heros, Villains and Clowns - Semester A

This semester we will explore the history of comedy and modern day soap opera.  Working as a class and in small groups, we will refine our acting skills by applying drama techniques to create stereotypical characters.  We will apply research and presentation skills in exploring the origins and features of at least one theatre form and then apply our knowledge in creating a devised theatre piece based on a chosen theme/idea.  It is expected that we will attend at least ONE professional theatre show that will support the end of year External Examination. This subject requires full participation from all students throughout the semester and offers out side class performance opportunities.
