Level 3 Sports Science
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs T. Remington.
Sports Science provides challenging learning experiences in sport and physical activity.
The course covers 5 main areas.
- Sporting technique - biomechanics, anatomy and video analysis in relation to tennis.
- Sporting influences - investigating the influences on their own lifetime involvement in sport.
- Performance improvement - students undertake a performance improvement programme in relation to CrossFit.
- Physical performance - students are assessed on their physical capabilities within a sporting context.
- Sport Leadership - examining contemporary leadership styles in a physical setting.
Recommended Prior Learning
A minimum of 14 credits gained in Year 12 Sports Science or with Head of Faculty approval. A keen interest in sport and the science of sport and fitness. A sound level of literacy is required.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Cost: $60 - day trips to local CrossFit gym.
Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
