Level 2 Visual Arts - Painting
Course Description
This course builds on the skills and knowledge gained in your Year 11 Visual Arts class. You will explore a range of artistic conventions, ideas and techniques in Painting, both historical and contemporary, and then apply that to your own portfolio project. Your internal assignments will contribute towards the external assessment, and the project will a year long investigation into your subject matter. Your project will allow you to investigate topics that matter to you, and will allow you to express your original ideas, wrapped around the pictorial issues of your chosen artist models. We will explore a range of media including sketching, painting and a range of printmaking methods.
If you have not taken Level One Visual Arts, but have relevant prior experience, either at at school or otherwise, please see Miss Bell to get permission to enroll in the course.
Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in drawing, painting or digital arts. Year 10 or 11 Visual Arts. Private lessons or tuition in drawing, painting or sculpture, design or printmaking.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Art pack prices to be confirmed. Students may not need to purchase all items if they have them already.
Printing costs: as required by students. Course fee: $65.00

You will have two internal assessments, and one external assessment.Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
Total Credits Available: 20 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 12 credits.
