Level 2 Fabric Technology
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms R. Cameron.
Students will learn advanced pattern alterations and construction (sewing) skills. Students can choose their own projects, but need to meet the assessment criteria in order to gain credits. Assessment tasks require students to design, plan, research, test, trial and write about the process, as well as make an outcome.
Students are expected to buy/find their own fabric for their sewing projects. Calico is provided for pattern alterations and testing.
Students/akonga are expected to have completed level 1 Fabric Technology and have basic sewing skills and knowledge of the design process.
Recommended Prior Learning
Basic sewing skills and knowledge, an interest in making clothes and completion of Year 11 Fabric Technology.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$15 entry fee to the Pin'd Creative Showcase competition optional
Students need to organise and/or buy their own fabric, etc for their sewing projects
