Year 10 Drama Stand up for your Rights Semester B

Although 2021 timetables are yet to be finalised, course selection is now finished. Any changes to student courses will now take place in January 2020.

Course Description

What is it?
Developing Confidence, Creativity, and Critical thinking.
Introduction to theatre and drama aspects including Devising and Theatre making. Building on drama techniques: skills of voice, body, movement, and space. A focus on Devising and taking part in Creating a drama response to a social issue. Performing own performances to local Primary schools.

It is highly recommended that students who are considering going on to NCEA Drama Level 1 should take both Semester 10 Drama A and B as these are two different courses building your skills and competencies.

What does it involve?
 Lots of team work, co-operation, communication, confidence, problem solving, creativity and critical thinking.
Active participation – this is a very hands on practical course. There is movement. There is the option to perform, there is the option to be involved in Performing Arts Technologies.
 Project based learning, you will manage your own group projects.
NCEA Level One assessment opportunities.

Pathway

Drama builds confidence, connection, concentration and creative problem solving skills. This course serves as a foundation for NCEA Level 1 and is great for improving communication skills and the ability to work as a team player. Perfect for budding lawyers, social activists, artists, historians, practical learners and those who love working with people.
